Took a few pics at the beach this afternoon with my D50 that I'm getting to know. The pebbles were taken using the kit lense and the baby seal was reached with the Nikkor 70-300mm kit lense. Need a tripod as it was wind as hell!

C&C welcome.

I like the first one, very hard to figure out what exactly it is, I think I have it but still not sure. Pretty unique in my eyes too.

The first one is of the gap between the timbers of the sea defence Groynes on the North Norfolk Coast. The seal colony is at Horsey, a little further down from the groynes.

I'm not really a fan of the first one compositionally, it's a little hard on the eyes, it looks like an optical illusion. :o

But I can see why others like it. :)

They're a bit dark?

I've found the brightness of the D50 LCD to be a little confusing, sometimes it's hard to tell if the image is under/over-exposed. So I set for like +1e and then it's way too bright on the computer!

I personally don't like the crops, I always keep to a 3:2 ratio image, and a boarder does wonders:

photoshop>image>canvas size>relative> 50, 50, for those size images.
