Hey all.

At the mo I'm currently running my PC on a 32" LG TV @ 1920 x 1080.

I'm thinking of downgrading in size to either a 27" (with 2560 x 1440 res) or a 24" (with a 1920 x 1080 res).

The main reason for the downgrade in size is because I sit quite close.

What would look better as far as image quality goes, 27" with high res or 24" with the standard res?

The PC is primarily used for gaming so eye candy is the top priority, I'm just worried that going for the 2560 res will take a massive hit on framerates, I'm currently rocking 2 6950's on Xfire.

Thanks for your time and any advice is appriciated :D

Have look at this review of Crossfired HD 6950's.

Compare the results of 2560x1600 and 1920x1080 to give you some idea of the difference in frame rates.

Very roughly you'll probably get 10% higher FPS at 2560x1440 compared to 2560x1600.

The 27" has the higher PPI of the 2 so it may look better, but the FPS hit will be quite a bit I guess, but Unlock em to 6970's if you can ;)
