Hello there.

Had Vista64 installed for a few days now.
Couple of teethng problems, but nothing I can't handle :)
But does anyone know the following ?

When booting up, the hard drive chunters away to itself for a few minutes before eventually shutting up.
Looking in the resource monitor shows there IS activity albeit very low.

Also in the resource monitor sectio, I see my memory is JAM PACKED FULL of hard faults !!?!? (sometimes hundreds, sometimes none)
These probably sound worse than they are and I've tried researching them but I'm not so knowledgable. Anyone know what's going on here.

Cheers

The hard drive activity after boot up is probably just Vista indexing files.

Re the hard faults -

A hard fault (also known as a page fault) occurs when the page of the referenced address is no longer in physical memory and has been swapped out or is available from a backing file on disk. It is not an error. However, a high number of hard faults may explain the slow response time of an application if it must continually read data back from disk rather than from physical memory.
