I brought a new frame for Xmas, The hanger was attached to the bike while in the post  and was therefore bent. Bent it straight in a vice and all the gears worked, but realised couldn’t get the wheel off when I had a puncture. Hanger was in the way so had to take it off and made I right mess.

So I emailed CRC and they replaced the hanger. But it was the same as before, bent... also another issue is that my Hope skewer end doesn’t fit nicely when clamped on the hanger. Anyone else got a cove stiffee? Could you take a picture of the hanger looking behind it and from the side?

The frame is OK and has been double checked. But surly the new hanger can’t be bent!?!? But again the frame is fine. I have a photo of the hanger and it’s clearly knackered.

Another email to CRC?

Will try and grab some pictures for you tomorrow, the hangers are cnced some im pretty sure the wheel side should be flat.

I have the same issue as you though, the bolt (i use a bolt thru) cap/skewer end doesnt fit properly in the cut out on the hanger.

When the hanger originally got bent, did the dropout in the frame also get slightly squashed? I've had that problem before.

Do you have a 10mm TA you could test the dropout with if you remove the hanger? The thru-axle should drop into the frame without problem, if the dropout is slightly squashed then it needs to be unsquashed. Easiest way is with a spanner and a metal cheater bar for extra leverage. Here's my MTBR thread when I had the problem: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=517824

Nailed it on the head, Why is this? Although I use 9mm hope quick release , same issue. I thought Cove meant quality !?

Visualy inspecting the QR getting stuck, its on the hanger and not on the frame.

The skewer drops in the frame perfectly, looks to be fine. When the hanger is on, its not plush againt the frame. Here is the photo showing the new hanger, which is identical to the old. Suggesting either IM VERY unlucky or CRC sent me a duff one.... or the frame is bent however to the naked eye the frame is fine and hanger is bent. Confused!

Not sure really, I guess the cut out is fitted to a particular size, it just isnt the right size for the caps ive tried!

Maybe the replacement hanger you received was taken off a frame also? I couldve sworn I had bought a spare hanger which im looking for, but I cant find it for the life of me.

Right, although i've not had a chance to photograph the one on the actual bike, I have dug out my spare hanger. It is absolutely straight and lies flat. Definitely not twisted like the one pictured.
