Hi

An isp near me is looking for a tier 3 broadband technical support advisor and i want to apply directly but i need some help/advice on the covering letter.

My previous job was 2nd line support agent for another isp but i dealt more with the telephone line side of things rather than actual broadband problems.

This particular job doesn't ask for prior experience as they will provide me with training, they only ask that i am computer literate and eager to learn.

I already know a lot about router and ADSL modem configuration through personal experience but i don't know if or how i should include it as it wasn't related to any jobs.

I know its poor but this is what I've managed so far :o

Dear Sir/Madam

(Tier 3) Technical Support Advisor

Your advertisement for the above position has interested me very much and I would like to apply.......

Can anyone help me fill in the rest
I've never been good at writing this sort of thing but it doesn't mean i cant do the job.

thanks

In uni we were advised to write something along the lines of the following template...

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing with regards to the position vacancy of <whatever>, and enclose my CV for your perusal.

<brief overview of highest education achieved (eg. a-levels or degree)>

<brief overview of any prior experience that may make you a good candidate for the job>

I will be available for interview <whenever> and will be available for work from <whenever>

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Faithfully,
