I've got a asrock x370 K4 mobo with Ryzen 1600. I've just bought a 5700x3d and the pc won't boot.
Ive recently updated my bios as well as it was only on version 3.5 where the current beta version is 10.31. Before purchasing the new CPU I contacted asrock and they confirmed it was compatible and advised me that I'd get a ftpm prompt on first boot and to press Y but that never happened.
I've set everything to default in the bios and enabled ftpm and still no luck. Ive also tried reflashing the bios with some of the old updates. Should I carry on doing this so all of the old updates are added ? Anything else I need to do ? Thanks

I would disable secure boot and fTPM prior to installing a new CPU.

I think ASRock used to have special instructions for this, but if I click the link on their website it directs to a page that doesn't exist

You're definitely not using the display ports on the motherboard, right? Neither CPU has any graphics.

What happens exactly? A black screen with all the fans running? Did you clear the CMOS?
Ftpm has to be disabled in order to update the bios.
Definitely using the display port on the GPU. When I power the pc on all the fans come on but usually on bootup you can see some number on the led on the mobo but I don't get anything. After a few seconds it will just reboot and does the same thing again.
Yes I've also tired clearing CMOS and taking the battery out.
Boots up fine with the old CPU though
