The following spec is a new build:

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.50GHz (800FSB) - Retail
Gigabyte GA-EP43-S3L Intel P43
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850 'XXX edition' 512MB GDDR3

I have flashed the BIOS to the latest version and every thing is set to default.

The problem i'm having, if it is a problem, is that CPU-Z and Gigabytes Easy Tune are showing that my Multiplier is dropping from 12.5 to 6 - and more often than not sticking at 6. Should i trust the info or have i got a problem?

The thing that concerns me is that even the gigabyte monitoring software (easy tune) shows the same thing.

Any help appreciated.

I could kiss you. (Make that both of you as i've had another reply while typing this.)

This has been the most stressful build i've ever done (see cooling forum and my attempts to fit an akasa ak-965) - you really have made my night. I can walk away from this now and make a dent in my box of bud.

Thanks very much for the quick reply you will have no idea how much it's appreciated. My headache that's been with me since fitting the beast of heatsink might begin to recede now.

Yep, remember reading that, had a simular problem fitting a Scythe Mini Ninja to my media center, ended up having cuts on my hands and knuckles.

Anyway have a beer and enjoy :D
