Hi.
Can someone explain to me the point in places like CPW & P4U?
Wont deals be worse/more expensive than getting directly from providers?

Thanks in advance. :)

Dont know about you but i got abetter deal from cpw.

Orange said k800i 30 quid to buy phone on any of the contracts i wanted.

Phoned cpw got same phone for free with white psp and game and more text and mins ON orange same contract length and price.

so for me they rock. dont know about anyone else

i hate them, simply because i used to work in an O2 shop, and people would buy the phones from them, then they would tell them to go see O2 when they went wrong, cheeky *******

Can O2 and the like give you a free PSP?
Can O2 and the like give you a free TV?
Can O2 and the like give you a so many months half price line rental (£260 odd cashback)?
Can O2 and the like give you a £50 to sign you up?
Can O2 and the like give you a £100 to sign you up?

No :)

The Link Etc... can :)

Andy

Got a free 7" DVD player from O2 (shop) so its not only CPW, P4U etc that give out free stuff. They were giving away football tables when the World Cup was on too.

"the like"? wtf....

and i go with phones for you. they got a brill deal for me.

ignore aruffell he trys to sell anything thats "The Link" related :(

Avoid Phones4U like the plague! They never give the customer's the full picture and sometimes tell downright lies to make a sale! I know because I deal with the fallout on a daily basis.

saying that i have to go and sort my contract its ten quid too expensive!

You get better deals from retailers because the networks pay them a handsome amount for each connection.

I.E. a network could say to CPW , i'll give you £600 for a connaction on X price plan on X phone if you sell it, then the retailer uses some of their comission (£600 in this case) to buy a games console (say £200) advertise the deal with a free games console, the network gets a new customer the retailer gets £400 and the customer gets a phone and a games console so their happy.

Still not sure why the networks don't just do this themselves though, would save from paying retailers comissions.

I imagine it is because of the high churn rate amongst mobile customers, swapping, moving etc... A customer can be a long term investment for networks sometimes.
