Going from a HD4850 512mb, will it be a big improvement ?

^^ Looking at £250 or more for a 6950 IMO, and yeah massive improvement over a 4850.
Any idea if other cards (especially 6870s) will drop in price when the 6950s are released ?
Also, I`ve asked before, but I run an AMD MB/CPU, an NVIDIA graphics card won`t cause any issues, will it ?

No problems with an nvidia card in an amd based system.
I thought not, but as they are business rivals, I thought I`d better make sure !

Same here. But, I can't also help wondering what ATI will be bringing out closer to christmas, and how the prices will be then for all cards.
I`ve had ATI cards for the last 2 upgrades, I suppose I just want a change for the sake of it. I usually buy "mid range" cards that offer decent VFM. The GTX460 ticks the boxes, I think. There`s always the temptation to wait, but in the past year or two, tech prices have been a lot more stable, so you seem to have to wait quite a lot longer to get something better/cheaper. (I am now talking myself into a purchase).
Temptation got the better of me. A Gigabyte GTX460 OC 1GB @ £145 delivered was too much to resist. I`ll probably finish Fallout 3, run HAWX2 once and maybe play one more game before the next "must have" upgrade in a couple of years time.

But they were exactly the sort of price/perf/temp/power cards I was looking for, and they are limited, so I had to buy. (It's not the sort of card you expect to find available for long).

SUPER OC impress me more, in graphics card terms they are gorgeous.
It better had be...I ordered one today!..(never could be bothered to oc myself.)
Was hard to choose between this & the £10 dearer msi talon.....which is clocked slower...I dunno....those military class components....had to stop myself from imagining turrets & stuff sticking out of my pc case...

They are what the GTX470 should have been IMO.

Review of the 470SOC, great card and at 700 MHz core it is slower than a 480 at stock, but a wee bit faster in some titles at certain res.
