Crashed my bike on hidden drain, who do I contact?

Completely agree with Beanspout's sarcasm here I'm afraid. I hate the compensation culture - where will it all end? It you are going to write a letter to the council, fair enough, but you didn't hurt tourself badly, so stop moaning!

:p

Sorry to be blunt, but I ride on disgusting roads as well - you have a look around Leeds! There is no reason that you can't avoid 'hidden' holes in the road.

Sorry, but if you were on a mountain bike & fell off due to a hole in the road, you weren't paying enough attention or you could have avoided it.

It's more reasonable if you damage a car's wheel because sometimes you just can't avoid it, but on a bike you are easily able to avoid everything.

Jesus, I can avoid a nail on the road if I see it, never mind a mahoosive hole in the tarmac.

Your fault, tough **** IMO

Not always, what if a truck is overtaking? You can't move to the right (splat) you might not have enough room on the left, so you have to go over the pothole

You can get money from the council if a pothole damages your bike :)

Bunny Hop? :p

Seriously, it's going to have to be a crater sized pothole to not be able to avoid it.

If there was a truck alongside him & he crashed (as he said he did), then a grazed knee would be the least of his worries wouldn't it?

I stand by my earlier statement.

Damn right. Seriously, get over it.

If you rode over a pot hole and got hurt, I'm sorry, but if it wasn't an inverted Everest, then you weren't paying due attention to the road.
