I've seen cars do this round my way and to be honest with 2-3 cars per most homes it's now a case of finding a kerb that hasn't been dropped isn't it? Well it is round my way.

I do know what the OP means. Its the same near where my mates work. Its like a lower kerb than usual than usual. No more than 2 inches high but it is a pavement where you walk.

ive seen this too.

to avoid the speed bump, the moron uses the nearest drive way to mount the curb, drives with two wheels on the curb and then at the next drop curb/driveway, rejoin the road with all four wheels thus missing the speed bump

The 50mph might well be pushing it but morons who do this aren't likely to be your typical Sunday driver so for me 40mph would be quite believable.
