creatine

what makes are you guys using?

thinking of trying tropicana brand from monster supplements.

Creatine does work on some people, not everyone.

Creatine has been proven to help muscle growth during its repair, it also pulls water into your muscles, making them appear larger than they truly are.

However the water thing is only temporary and wears off a few weeks after the loading phase. Do not confuse it with hypertrophy.

My main advice would be not to rely on creatine to help grow your muscles, get a proper diet and regime sorted first, and take a bit of creatine to help it all along. If you're already doing this, great.

Without turning this into a medical thread I can give you a bit more advice about creatine, take only the reccomended dose. It has been well documented that athletes who take the right dosage have little to no side effects, however taking too much can land you in trouble and threaten your growth. Creatine is processed through your body roughly 2 hours after taking, the kidneys process most of it, and expell any not used, during this time the creatine can act like a dietetic and remove water from your body, just like caffeine and alchohol, leading to dehydration.

A dehydrated body when working out is only going to make you ill.

So drink plenty of water when taking it, and see how it goes.

None, its useless

Worked great for me aswell, I got my program and diet down so i was making steady gains then used creatine and got even better results.

Aswell as drawing water into the muscles it help convert ADP back into ATP quicker which enables your muscles to contract for longer

what whey protein do you lot go for, do you go for a concentrate, isolate or have you found a decent mix of the 2?

i have concentrate, isolate is supose to be more purer etc so has marginally more protein and a few other stuff the concentrate doesnt have, but overall it wont make a difference for the average joe, apart from the wallet

I would look at ways of getting Creatine in the system naturally before using supplements. Supplements only assist a diet, not replace it. As for the effects of Creatine, if you notice a big difference when using it, it tends to indicate a poor diet in the first place, maybe not enough red meat or fish being consumed [cheap sausages/burgers/figh fingers are unproductive and don't count for much - quality red meat and fish only].

Isolate is concentrate with an extra filtration stage so it doesn't have any other 'stuff' just less fat and carbs.
