Just got back from holiday and discovered someone had been using one of my credit cards without my knowledge. They bought numerous flights amongst other things, one of which was a KLM flight in Europe and was booked with an Arabic name.

Now I don't want to start the whole "Just because they're foreign they must be a terrorist" thing, but is this something I should be telling the anti-terrorist people, or should I just leave well alone and let the credit card company chase it up?

I'm getting my money back, so not bothered on that front, just wondered if either anyone in the know or had had similar happen to them, had any thoughts.

No just tell the credit card company. :p

It happens all the time, chances are it was stolen then sold on to be used so not really anythin 'terrorist' about it, asians are everywhere :p

Someone used my UK Natwest card on Paddy power but only spent £150.
The wierd thing is that I haven't used that card for about a year as it's been on the shelf in one of my cupboards, I thought they must have got my details a while ago but the guy on the card fraud line said that credit card details can even be guessed

someone went to the cinema on my hsbc card, if it wasnt for the card fraud people they would have transferred 2k onto a credit card

So becasue someone went to the cinema they (being the thieves) would have transfered £2k onto that card? In what spending?

I assume the 2k transfer is what triggered interest from the fraud department. They would freeze the transaction then contact the card holder to confirm it's legitimacy.

Ah I see, I find the Natwest system utterly dire - I can never use it without being confirmed - I've asked for it to disappear but no joy, suppose I'm dead meat to them as I always pay it off :(

Just had a load of fraudulent transactions on one of my cards. This card is ONLY used on-line, and no-one else has even seen it, never mind had access to it. Again, most of the shopping was low-price stuff, the biggest being just over £50, and many below £10.
