Afew weeks/months back afew of you might remember my topic in which I was complaining about being refused an overdraft. Well, I think ive found the problem!

I dont think im on the electoral role! As im still currently at Uni how easy would it be to "join it" (in other words, I think if theyd sent me letters they would be at home). Im killing myself for a new pc at the minute and cant afford one without an overdraft!

A friend of mine said he had the same problem and just phoned the credit company to tell them this. Has anyone else had this sort of experience? I dont wanna phone up only to be told to go away .

sorry, but im of the opinion that you shouldnt use your overdraft for this if you cannot afford it. have you worked out how long it would take to clear your overdraft?
what about the next upgrade, or gadget, would that also be paid on the overdraft?
an easy way to slip into debt imo

You can just phone up the electoral registration office nearest your uni residence and ask to be added to the roll.

If they can't do it over the phone then you can just pop into their office with proof of your address and fill out a form.

Easy. :)

Although its a Student Overdraft I understand what youre saying. As the overdraft im looking to get is £1000 I plan to spend 6-700 on the pc and keep the rest there, then every loan payment over the next few years put money back into that account to clear the overdraft.
