Crimson Desert - Not an MMORPG…anymore

Absolutely no chat about this in the console forum, I've grabbed it on Xbox so hopefully it will play on my PC as well. This is the first RPG I've liked the look of since Elden Ring!

That button cheat sheet is a little insane looking, hopefully they tone down from what looks like a fighting game style control system with some patching.
Black Desert did have some quirky combos to memorise, but nothing that crazy.

From what I can tell, with it largely being portrayed as an open world exploration with bosses scattered about and snippets of lore to discover, Elden Ring would be a closer comparison than RDR2.

Sounds like the story is going to be weak, shame as I like a good story with large open world games. And would have been nice if the quests were a little more varied, ala CyberPunk 2077 or HZD. I'm still likely to pick the game up, but I'll be waiting to see what the comments are from other gamers, the controls don't really daunt me as I suspect you won't need half as many, and by the time you do you'll probably be starting to get a little more used to them.

Narrative wise, I'm expecting something much more loose, like an Elder Scrolls game rather than a RDR. Much like Skyrim I think this will be more sandboxey and be about the world rather than a story. I'm fine with that.

The side quests are all voiced and mocapped which is nice ! No static standing and talking models. There’s 63 side quests in the first town alone which is a lot.

I don't want to be a killjoy but I would tamper my expectations a little. This game is not looking like a slam dunk some here would have us believe.

I dont think anyone has said it would be. infact many cannot believe it and think its too good to be true.

I think it maybe a good game. I have mid expectations. why do u think i have not pre ordered it yet(but will do so today or so) As i been waiting for more feedback/previews of it.

Personally i am more hyped about Star citizen next update which finally introduces crafting in its basic form.

Crimson Desert i will get day 1 100% as i like thee types of games.

It might or might not. Won't know until it is out. But jonney seems to think so. Let's hope he is right
