I'm currently creating a new site and as I'm usually terrible at design I looked at lots and lots of sites for inspiration.

Here's what I came up with

CHrVns.png

Now it's a lot better than anything else i've designed although I need to find a colour scheme that works slightly better. The main section is very grey.

What do you think?

We really can't offer any critique yet, as the design serves no purpose. What's the design for?

There are hints that it's for a blog [or a blog template], but with all those placeholders, it's not clear.

At the moment, you're a tailor with a bolt of cloth, some thread and a handful of buttons, pointing to a photograph of a suit and asking "What do you think of this?"

All we can really reply with is "nice fabric" and "sensible button choice".

Like the blue gradient background, though. Give it some context - and some content - and you can get some useful feedback :)

The only thing that stands out to me that doesnt work is that your main body text is very cramped together, other than that some nice ideas...

Technically proficient, but very generic. I think it will help when you get some graphics in there.

the "a simple subtitle" is too small for any useful text. you'd get only a few more characters in before it hits the edge. of course as mentioned without knowing what this design is for then it may be ok
