Critique this portrait please?

I took this and processed it a while ago. Was gonna get some more shots and upload in bulk but havent had a chance to get out and about much. What does everyone think? Am i right in thinking i should have left space the way he's facing rather than behind him?

It's more conventional to have the space on the right. Your pic makes me look at his face first and then I get drawn to the space behind him, which has nothing there. It's a good pic though.

Yeah, it's a good shot, but as Mint_sauce says, I think that the shot would work better either with the space to the right, or with the model sat facing the other direction, so that he has 'space' to look into. The blown highlights are also a little distracting

I know that the standard is for the subject to be looking into the frame, but in this case I think it works quite well to be the opposite.

Im not sure the lighting is the best though.

Good shot however.
