Keeping 'er Country!
Hi Folks,

I've had my 2 7850HD's in crossfire since they were bought in 2012/2013, and they're starting to show their age! (plus one of the fans is missing a couple of fins and sounds terrible...)

I'm looking to go back to single card, and aren't fussy as to whether its ATI or NVIDIA, but I'd like to keep the price to around £250. Unless you can convince me that spending another £30-£50 is worth it.

From older threads, I see that this got a mention in August 2018, but wondered if there was anything else that you good folk would recommend?

I mainly play FPS, but do enjoy a good bit of D3 too. I'd like to game at 1440p with decent settings, but appreciate that the budget might not stretch that far!

Current specs:

- 1440p monitor
- MSI Z87M-GAMING Motherboard
- i5 4670k
- 16gb RAM (Crucial 16GB kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800))
- Couple of SSDs

Ta,
Tom

Thanks Chrisc, in your honest opinion, is it worth the extra £££? I'm an occasional gamer, but would happily spend the extra if it was going to future-proof me for another 6 or so years.

I'm not overly in a hurry tbh. I don't tend to game in the summer which is why I've only just noticed the performance over the last couple of months.

Just thought I'd pick the brains of the forum whilst the Jan sales were on.
