Hi all,

I currently have the X800 GTO2 installed on my system, I have overclocked it and it is showing up on my system info as an X850 now.

I am thinking of using the crossfire option on my motherboard, what graphics card should I purchase? an X800 or an X850? and if I am unable to use the crossfire edition X850 how do I undo the overclock so I can use another crossfire edition X800?

If you're using a GTO² that's unlocked to 16 pipelines and overclocked anywhere near 540/640 then the X850 XT Crossfire Edition is the card you're looking for. It might be a stupid question, but I assume you've got a Crossfire motherboard?

Yes I have the Sapphire Advantage crossfire board, what will happen when I plug the master card in then will it still recognise the X800GTO2 as an X850?

Yep, and the X850 XT Crossfire Edition card will underclock itself if neccessary (or the GTO² will to match the Crossfire card if it's faster.)

I know this is sounding a bit thick, but just to get it straight then.

I'll take my card out from the top slot where it is now and place it in the second slot then place the X850 in the top slot. Will I need to go through the overclock procedure again with the X800GTO2 or will the motherboard still pick it up as overclocked?

Also will I see much gain in the games I play i.e FEAR, Spellforce2?

My system at the moment is
Athlon 64 x2 4400
2gb DDR
320 GB SATA (Raid)

I 'm using two monitors (extended desktop 1 x Samsung 913n and 1 x Samsung 172v.

I appreciate your help so far you have put my mind at rest on a lot of things.
