Hi, I have a C300,Gigabyte ud5,2600k and fresh install W7. In the bios it sees it as an ide Drive. When i set to AHCI (think i have that rigth-not infront of my pc at the moment) it will crash when starting windows. I am using latest Bios F6 and its plugged into a sata 6 port. Please any help with this is very welcome. I have this drive for operating system and have installed 3 games and i only have 30gig left. Just enough to install Shogun2.

That's because your W7 install doesn't have AHCI stuff setup.
