Crucial C400 coming soon! 415mb/s read, 95-260mb/s write

Well compaired to the new corsair they are still a bit sucky 64GB Corsair Performance 3 Series, MLCFlash, 2.5" SSD, SATA III, Read 365MB/s, Write 110MB/s

Will definitely get a SSD for my new build. I just hope the next generation will be out when the new SB mobos are in store. Surely they should be out by April, right?

Straight from Crucial themselves:

The C400 SSD is a Micron drive only. However, we will be launching our own new SSD line later within the quarter. The Crucial branded drive will be called the m4.

I will let you know when/if they let me know of a release date and will post preliminary results here before the actual review.

God, people still banging on about sequential speeds. They only matter when copying big files, and installing your OS.

Who keeps large files on an system drive, or constantly re-installs their OS? Very few people.

Like titaniumx3 said, the random speeds are important. Nothing else!

If you have a Sata III mobo and just want a windows drive, the 64 Gb C300 is still brilliant, and will be even more so if it gets cheaper.

Write speed is meaningless. It only took 7 minutes to install Windows 7 onto it (I needed to do it twice because I had a problem with my boot sector), and since then nothing but the read speeds matter!

Write speeds is very important to me...
Most have a write speed at lest as fast as my fastest hardrive...
