Crucial M4 128GB £89.99 on Deal of the Day!

It is tempting , I have one 128GB M4 , if I was to get a second , and wanted to combine to a raid , would I have to reinstall windows and everything else all other again as iv just done a new build last week . , If I can just add it in then I might jump on it , If I have to ponse about and do all that ill think ill skip and just expect the 70GB left for program files to last me . as iv got plenty of HDD"s for media , games ect . and would it increase bandwith speeds even more ?

I would not bother with RAID personally. It's not like it's slow. Use RAID if you really must (needs high speed video captures and that sort of stuff).

Any one know if its worth me getting one of these? I have a 120gb corsair force 3 already and im just wondering if the M4 is better? (not sure what I actually mean by better, faster boot maybe?) I havent filled the corsair yet but when I do if prices are higher i'll be kicking myself

Hmm looks like ocuk price matched the other £89 place for these.

Nice.

The price war on ssds is incredible, prices dropping all over the place for em. Think im gona wait till they get below 50 quid which by lookin at the price war seems reasonable and soon.

The M4 is better. However the prices are more likely to go down than up. And if it goes up it would be by a few pounds.

If you don't need one, then stick with what you have.

It's funny in a way. "wow £90 for 128GB!". Which is still way off hard drive prices :) I paid more than that for my Vertex 2E 60GB not so long ago, but prices still have a long way to go. Not sure if SSDs could ever be competitive with big mechanical storage though, although given the complexity and precision engineering needed for high capacity mechanical drive, I wouldn't be surprised.

So tempting!

I bought one for £120 recently - I have 60Gb C300 as a games SSD and I am trying to justify purchasing another. Need to stop.

paid £120 about 2-3 weeks ago for one.

I held off SSDs for ages and wasted a lot of time doing so!

Absolutely blown away by the difference, I thought they were all hype.

Everything is now instant.

My Dad looked green with envy when he came around the other day and saw how fast my PC turned off, booted up and opened firefox :D

Yeah I guess, already had an order waiting and that has the 10% discount on it from the other week. I was debating seeing if I could be cheeky and add this to it but I could just wait. Thanks for the input :)
