Crucial M4 or Samsung 830

Thanks for all the posts. In the end I decided to give the Samsung's a punt.
Got a couple of 256GB ones beside me now. I'll be using them when I build my Windows 8 machine, probably towards the end of the week.

Cheers.

Did you buy them today for the cashback?

Work was paying for them, so no - were purchased a couple of days ago.
If I was buying them for myself I'd have waited. But work were buying these for me.

Need to buy in a couple of 256GB SSD's. Always purchased Crucial drives in the past, happy with performance, reliability and support if required.
I see the Samsung drives are slightly cheaper and have "paper specifications" that put them above the Crucial drives.
Are the Samsung as good as they look, or worth sticking to Crucial?

Ta

830, I ordered one last night :D

I own both the Samsung 830 and the M4. In real world I can't tell any difference.

The Samsung apparently handles compressed data better then the M4. I run NTFS compression on some folders stored on the 830. If your storing compressed data that could be an argument for the 830 over M4.
