Crysis 2 - What upgrades are you going to make?

Crysis 1 will be superior to Crysis 2 in terms of graphics combined with the open world, Crysis 2 is a lot more linear to get it to run on the consoles, I have no doubt the graphics will be nice but thats only because of the enviroment its based on.

I'm due a graphics card anyway but theres no way i'd upgrade specifically for this game, it will be a console port, it will be a generic shooter sold off the brand and marketing hype there are far more games due between now and Crysis 2 that I am interested in

Why would you need to make upgrades for crysis 2? It'll probably be less intensive than the first one. It's unlikely you'll need to make any upgrades until the next gen of consoles is out - unless you want super-high res.

Wait until the game is out, then decide if the game is worthy of upgrade if your system can't handle it..

TBH, seeing as my PC played Metro 2033 with ultra high settings in DX11 with 8 x MSAA or whatever it was I was using at 1920 x 1080 and FRAPS said on average 56fps with v sync then can't see crysis 2 being much of a problem..

sure feels nice to know my gaming rig is finally good for another year or two..

Maybe, for the first time a sub £300 graphics card will last more then a year..:p

Oh yeah, completely forgot about valve :o, they are the only ones that will keep PC gaming alive (now would be the perfect time to bring out half life 3 exclusively for the PC tbh, and am sure companies will start to develop games exclusively for the PC and not port the crap from consoles once they see the sales of it and as you said if they go in the same direction then it's over for the PC gaming society sadly :(, as they are the only ones who still develop games exclusively for the PC.

Sorry to break it to you but all the Source engine games are on xbox :p

:p

Yeah, I know, but they still develop games exclusively for the PC, not just do poor ports from consoles to PC like all the companies today, even though they might not be your big blockbuster type of games, but the ones like alien swarm, which is amazing IMO and some others. Would happily have paid money for alien swarm TBH.

Actually anyone fancy playing a game of alien swarm now? :p

I'm sitting on my last PC now.

Phenom X4 965 @4k mhz
8 gig RAM
5870 x 2

Epic changes IRL coming up that would render my finances full of bullets holes. Anyway, that PC should do for Crysis 2. Judging by the fact that the last game I played was back in August, buying a new PC seems like a waste.
