Apologies if this is a repost, but cant seem to find a specific thread for it:

If you own Crysis, you have GOT to try this - http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=18999

Basically, its an 80+ man hour time custom config for Crysis, and basically this is what Crysis *SHOULD* have been released as!

Higher detail, bump mapping, massively richer colour depth, far more FPS and much smoother gameplay, even on my somewhat antiquated rig.

Give it a blast, it actually means you need night vision at night now

Cant recomment this enough..... bad bad FAIL on EA/Crytek for not releasing their long-anticipated baby like this!

OK OK, I follow the physics rules I admit - I did find the odd spot near the back end of Onslaught where it creaked up badly, when it did some physics processing on rocks falling, but then it smoothed out again.

And no, I havent benched with/without this mod, just seems so much better compared to an unmodified version, that I cant see an argument for *NOT* trying it, and you can always uninstall it if you dont like it.

I'd rather use their config than spend my time making/testing my own.... more time to play the darn game!! The zero-G parts and snow sections run like a dream compared to vanilla for me - hope it works as good for some other people.

I agree Gerard, there seems to be a fairly big difference between those - I reckon it has to do with the lighting complexity in one sense, but also things like those logs and general 'stuff' on the forest floor, making it look realistic in the video but much less so in-game.

That also seems to be the worst place you could take a comparison shot from... shame theres no comparison from video compared to game when stood on the road bridge overlooking the Harbour during sunrise!

Still, theres nothing else out there that even comes close to this level of graphical complexity - yes there's a few glitches/problems/silly physics, but better to push the boundaries than make crud like SOF3 or MOHAA Airborne surely?

Might give that a bash tonight Inazuma, i did like the natural mod but it didnt seem to make much of an overall adjustment.

I'll be running the 8800GT through a 32" widescreen at 1366x768 over the weekend, so should make for a few more FPS :D
