Devs spoke with 1up. 22:30 into this podcast.

edit: For those who can't be asked to listen to the whole thing. They said that it'll be watered down to properly run the game but won't be a direct port.
Also, from another website (http://www.incrysis.com/). Crytek is working with NV to get framerates up and NV has sent a bunch of engineers to Germany to help Crytek.

Also, Age of Conan cannot fit onto a DVD9 360 disk and you'll need a hard drive to play.....360 owners without a hard drive cannot play.

I can see the PS3 mob pouncing on this one.

Crysis for the 360 will most definitely be watered down - Predator:Instincts for the same console is noticeably of a lower quality than Farcry, which came out 3 years ago.

Erm, DX10 isn't an Xbox 360 trait.
Not in its entirety no, but the xenos chip is capable of DX10 in some aspects. Most websites will tell you it has a superset of DX9.

The tech presentation of the 'fall' update showed that DX10 is almost completely implemented on the 360..

Luckily the one feature DX10 really needs for performance, unified shaders is present on the 360 hardware...

Wicked - that game should look incredible on the 360 :)
Will it?

F.E.A.R for example had noticably lower detail (not by much but certainly noticable) than the pc version in order to get it to run at a decent frame rate.

Well I dont think a conroe and an X850 will make it look any better than it would on a 360. That games gonna need some beastly specs for the pc

Depends on how much time they spend tuning it to make it run smoothly. If it's done badly, then it'll be quite low quality compared to the potential ultra high quality available on the PC, however if the developers do take advantage of the three cores and graphics chip of the 360, then it could look great. We will have to wait and see however.

Well lets face it over the years there hasnt been a lot of ports released where the developers take full advantage of the hardware.

Because it was an enhanced Xbox game rather than a PC port.

And let's take a look at the myraid of PC to Xbox 360 ports - every single one of them has taken a noticeable hit in graphics quality (even the big hitter Oblivion). You can't really play the 'oh the developers didn't utililize the hardware properly' card everytime, it is getting old and tired. The simple fact of the matter is, the Xbox 360 doesn't have the hardware for perfect or acceptable quality (in the eyes of many) ports.

have hardly touched the pc at all "game wise" since getting the 360....if they do a good enough job ill gladly get this on the console rather than the pc.

The thing is, who plays anything on the PC now days?!
PC gamers. PC gaming is still massively popular. It's not as mainstream as the console market, but there is still quite a demand for decent PC games, especially good looking ones for those that like to have the most up to date and expensive technologhy available.

Same, I wonder how many people there are like us, that have gone from PC (I was a pro PC anti last gen console guy due to graphics) to console for gaming?

I'm thinking the PC has had a decline for gaming in the last year (without any figures/facts to back that up).

I have over the last year, however i built myself a new pc over xmas so its back to 60:40 in favour of PC. I'll probably get games like crysis and bioshock on PC, i use my 360 more for multiplayer games like THP8 and pro evo.
