I'm sure Sony's PS3 doesn't use any DirectX version at all... so what does it use? Do you rekon they port the whole game to OpenGL or something for the PS3?

Sony fanboys have lost thier head. I would think microsft 360 would be easier to port over.

Personally I don't ever see the PS3 catching up with Crysis.

Yeah there are tons of games that are looking like Uncharted, Lair, GTHD, Warhawk, Heavenly sword.... There is nothing on PC that can be compared to these games. And Lair and Uncharted are said to be using 30% of PS3 power.

I actually own a PS3, and wouldn't be surprised if a PS3 version of Crysis looked very nearly, or even as good as the PC version. PS3 games only have to be built around one GPU, and so are as optimized as possible. Why do you think some PS3 games running on the equivalent of a 7800, look better than most PC games running on an 8800? Having said that, in a few years time the PC version will look a lot better running on the next generation of GPU's.

BS aside it's quite possible.

A PC game running on 8800GTX is never going to be as efficient as a well optimized game running on PS3 and RSX, so yes it is possible if the time and effort is put into optimizing.

already something like gears of war on 360 looks better than pretty much any pc game out at the moment. i rekon ps3 might just pull it off.

although the main woundage point will be the amount of ram on a console.

It only has to render graphics at 720p not the average 1280/1024+ like PC users use, surely that should free up ram that can be used for more important things :confused:
