Sorry, don't know if this is in the right section, PC Games or Software? :) So if it needs to be moved I am sorry.

PCGames.de is reporting that Crysis, the first person shooter game for PC in the works at Crytek and based on new intellectual property, was delayed to ship with Windows Vista (January 2007) - the game was previously scheduled for Winter 2006. Crysis is powered by CryENGINE 2 which features dynamic day/night cycle, fully interactive enviroments, sunrays and diffuse transmission, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructrible enviroments, volumetric clouds, and advanced shader technology. Crysis will be launched in Winter 2006.

like electronics kind now read, Cryteks Edelshooter Crysis only at the beginning of of 2007 are reported into the shops will come. Actually logically, because all Windows Vista advantages is to be used. Since this comes however only in January on the market, Crysis shifts in the next year. Originally one counted on a publication at the end of 2006. Now all jungle fighters still another few weeks more must wait on the Shooter and refresh itself meanwhile to that refreshing green Screenshots from our Gallerie.

So I think that bad translation is basically saying, it was going to be released this Winter but is being held back until Vista is launched.

But I guess we kind of already figured that would be the case, but thought I best post the news regardless as it's going to be a great game!

/discuss. :D lol.

I was reading the second quote thinking 'wtf is this guy on?' until i saw it was a translation :p

Looking forward to the release, it'll give me an excuse for a new system :D

4Gb DDR2, awww no fair, i just bought 2Gb of DDR....

/pushes stupid PC over and sulks. :p

Thats gona be a bit confusing then, as thats like saying you need Vista to run it, but you don't it works perfectly well under XP with a DX9 card, so i can see a lot of ppl getting Vista thinking thats what they need to run Crysis when in fact they don't, so probably a lot of miffed ppl out there saying 'i spent £200 on vista to play Crysis, and i don't need the thing'. :D

I think the big plug for Crysis and Vista is the fact Crysis is a DX10 game and the last I heard is that Vista is the only OS to support DX10.

Yeah you need Vista for DX10, and to run Crysis's DX10 features, but it works fine under DX9 on XP, but as said some ppl might think that it will only work on Vista, and so blow £200 on buying that as well, without realising that you can play it on XP under DX9. :)

Blimey they may even blow £400 on the DX10 card to go with it as well, now that really would hack them off, 'ive just spent £640 on Vista, a DX10 card, and Crysis, and now you tell me it would have worked on my old x1900 on XP'. :p

yes but as far as I know DX10 will have all the extra "eyecandy" and what not, which a lot more people than you think will pay all that money for. Some people are strange, arent they ;)

I stand-up as one of those who thought you require Vista et al. :o

But Microsoft seriously need to reconsider DX10 not being supported or ported to XP. Or is their some serious issue/benefit/etc? Question: will a DX10 graphics card work on a system with XP & DX9?

Last thing i heard that Crysis is DX9 compatable and DX10 and shall be out this year as stated.

whats all this chat about 4gigs???

crysis will be the game that actually puts microsoft on the map.

people will say that microsoft is gangsterish for pulling out such a graphically stunning game on the pc where actually microsoft has jack to do with the game.

crytek have really impressed me with their HD video's of the game, and rumor has it that those HD videos were made using a single 7900GT
actually not shocking really since farcry was an extremly well programmed game and ran beautifully even on a geforce3 gfx card.

Quad Core Athlons are on the official AMD roadmap for 2007 release.
