Crysis! Would you change your 2900/8800 if one was a lot faster.

Heres an interesting question say crysis comes out and its like 20+fps faster on one of the card.

Would you sell your card and change it or would you not be that fussed ?

Holy massive sig Dicehunter!

Read the FAQ, it states that the maximum consecutive lines allowed is 4.

:edit: and in answer to the thread, no I wouldn't, but then again I don't own one :p

I personally think crysis will run better on the 1gig 2900 than my gtx.

Which is why ive kept 200 quid in ze bank ready for g90/whatever

Same here got 200 quid saved for G92, gonna have another 100 by then so will get the GTS model of the G92.

I dont think i would change my card for just one game, but i will probably have a new graphics card by / before its release anyway.

and what about if that was the only game that the 2900 was beating the 8800's at ?

Think I would do like other peeps are saying and get the gen after that (Nvidia G92 and whatever ATI can offer).

EDIT: I think the point comes to change only when a game is unplayable and not enjoyable then people might consider a shift early on.

I agree Bioshock > Crysis. Not sure why all the fuss over Crysis. Looks like another average fps, just wrapped up in some nice looking eye candy. Storyline & atmosphere > graphics!

On topic, no I wouldn't not just for one game. Well ok, maybe Bioshock :p

depends on the game for me. If its the only game i play for a long time like BF2142 or Warcraft then I would def switch games.

This is true. Chances are Crysis will mainly just be single player, play and forget. (as farcry multiplayer was crap) Plus the new cryoengine probably wont be used for many different online games. Where as the new Unreal Engine for example will get licensed for loads of different games for the next few years, so performance in that would be quit important for any card you buy. (just like Doom3/Quake4 performance is important because many of us might be playing Quakewars for a couple of years if its good)

As we have seen already, the Unreal 3 engine has already been licensed all over the place. Would seem like a wiser idea to invest in a card that performed better on that if mp games were your bag.

Yeah shame RB6 las vegas was not even remotely optimised for the PC.

Makes me glad i got the 360 version as I was trawling on the pc forums of Las vegas.

Numerous problems.....

Wonder if Lost planet retail DX10 / DX9 benchmark be any good.

No.

I would take "the hit" and wait for the next generation to play it properly. Switching within a generation is not really something I would consider - certainly not for just one game.

hay i predct 88000 gtx utlra will get beter fraems than 2900 xt in crysis i can maek bet if u want loll
