Hiyas, ill try and be brief, a friend of mine is returning form the land of Oz next week after working over there for many years, when he gets back he'll be taking his car out of storage and he asked me to check on the current legality of his under car neons.

The car is fitted with a pair of neons, a red one in the rear bumper and a white one in the front bumper, when the car was put into storage in 2003 this was road legal under the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989 (and was the only colour combination that was) as the light emitted at the front is white and the light emitted backwards is red (the is a dead spot of no light under the middle of the car). Does anybody know if the have been any revisions to the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations to stop people doing this (they were talking about it when he left for Oz) or is it still legal?

Obviously this guy annoyed a few coppers back in the day as they pulled him thinking they would get an easy collar and ended up being made to look like fools so if the law has changed and they have their shot at revenge they will take it so better to find out in advance.

Thanks very much.

Thats interesting, one of the guys at work got pulled recently for having them (in blue) and was told it depended on the level of leakage and his were leaking too much light and was given the option to reduce the leakage or remove them entirely

Haha true, But legally speaking im sure if they produce a white light at the front and red at the rear your safe.

They do look gash a **** though. What car is it?

Can't see anything in the SI's which amended the RVLR Act over the last 5-6 years that would exclude the lights he previously had on.

2005 amendment deals with flashing bike lights and some abnormal load stuff, 2009 amendment seems to deal largely with reflective markings.

Please, please, please be an exact copy of a Fast and Furious car which I have now seen to many of, well more "attempts of".

Sorry to disappoint, in daylight it looks like any other S15, just louder.
