Same with a lot of stuff from Aldi/Lidl lot cheaper and great quality, Asda/Tesco etc. are a con they make you think you are saving money but you are not most of the time, places like Home Bargains is great for non perishable foods.
You can't skimp on beans either. Branston > HP > Heinz > *
Custard Creams are awful.
Bourbons fo' life.
Are you kidding me? Branson beans are disgusting. They are also cheap so are skimping.
Heinz are the best beans.
+1, BEANZ MEANZ HEINZ!
Bourbons are the same, infact in my local Tesco there are 3 levels of quality for Bourbons......Branded, Tesco premuim OEM and Tesco value OEM.
I always buy the value one's as they are much cheaper and you get twice as much!
My health is probably suffering in some way tho?

I always get value custard creams but more importantly who does them for 29p
Many a thread has been overrun with bean enthusiasts lately, did i miss the bean uprising?

You did.
It was glorious.
You should have bean there.
Many beans bravely gave their lives - but in Heinz-sight it could probably have been avoided.
I fancied some custard creams and saw a pack of branded ones for £1.99 and an even bigger value pack for 29p - personally ive always been against the value smart price stuff etc, but thought screw it im going to try these, so I bought the value pack and seriously, there is actually no difference.
Just think of the ammount of money I could have saved over the years if I just tried it earlier!
Just thought I would share this fountain of knowledge with the fellow OCUK community

It's the same thing for Rich Tea biscuits and more or less the same for Whetabix clones.

Tesco does some gorgeous value shortbread, tastes better than some of the expensive branded Scottish ones!

Just don't make the mistake of mixing up Jaffa Cakes with own brand ones....*shudder*
