hey guys, im trying to write a professional looking cv for a job im applying for and was hoping to get some input from anyone online.

Since i have written a covering letter for the job introducing myself and explaining why i want the job, is it alright to leave my cv quite basic. At the moment its mainly grades, references and past emplyment details.

Or should i include some sort of personal profile in my cv?

Also, would any kind person be able to post their cv up so I can compare mine to theres ?

Cheers guys.

I read a few CVs sent to an employer and what they look for. From what I seen its just your qualifications/grades and employment history along with a good description of yourself and how you suit the job.

I have a small paragraph on my cv with a bit of a personal profile, but mainly it is the general work details on there. I tend to use the letter of application to describe myself, why I want the job and what qualities I have that make me the right person for the job. My CV then contains the standard details.

That way, you can use your CV over and over without changing it, and tailor the letter of application each time to the job you are applying for. (worked for me - had lots of interviews from this method and start my new job on 3rd July!!)

Its always good to have a personal statement with your CV, explaining what makes you different from the other guys/gals. Include any extra things you are into, like playing instruments or anything that seperates you.
