hi guys,

just a quickie, was curious how many shots I've taken on my d300 so I used Opanda exif viewer, it thinks I've taken 699144192 shots, also ran this by Preview Extractor, same result.

what gives, because I might use it a lot but I'm pretty sure I'd remember taking that many photos ;)

Is your file numbering on continuous? if you have never reset it then just take a shot and see what number it is and that should roughly be what it is.

I have different file areas for different lenses (on the cameras memory card not computer) and if I delete a photo the next one takes its number

It's really not a biggie I was just curious :)

Ah fair enough, should've had it set to continuous :p - Makes things easier.

PS - Take me to the Alps and I'll get you some kick arse photos :D

You can use this tool: http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

I was interested to find out how many I'd taken with my D80 as for some reason my picture numbers randomly reset. Someone posted it in another thread and it works a treat.

same random result, this is from the next photo in the series so no reason for it to be 100k out or whatever

kind of think I've got it, the first four numbers seem sequential I've just taken a load of photos and that would seem to make sense from the numbers I'm seeing, but I'm sure I've taken more than 6k's worth of photos....

odd

and yeah phate courchevel is anything but cheap :p
