Sorry, im a little drunk, yest i was designated driver for ferrying family to and from mine for xmas meals, so today im drunk (white russian custome cocktails) so excuse me if my spelling is a bit out.

Been looking at the nikon 5000 for a few reasons :

live view

lcd swivels

does "Hd video"

All of which my d70 doesnt have.

is it worth an upgrade or sidegrade to it ? and does it have all the feautres that my d70 has such as built in af motor and exposure reading etc etc ?

Or do i really need a d90 ?

i only really use my 70-300mm non vr and 50mm 1.8d, thinking of selling my 18-70mm lens as i never use it.

opinions ?

D70 to D5000 I would class as a significant downgrade.

I'm not dumping my D70 until I can afford a D300.

Biggest issue is it has no AF motor so your 50mm will only manual focus and quite possibly your 70-300 too, depending on what exact brand and model it is.

Not really worth it at all I'd say, D90 would be the obvious upgrade (even compared to a D300/D300s the D90 compares well and is arguable better value. I may yet swap my D200 for a D90 in time...
