Daddy Long Legs

Funny this thread should appear as I was gonna ask if anyone had noticed the daddy invasion! I've been getting like 1-2 in the house just about every day. Its getting annoying now! At least I've found fly spray owns them big time! :D

There are two types of daddy-long-legs (at this point, I hit copy and paste). The daddy-long-legs, which is also known as a crane fly, and the daddy-long-legs spider, which is that spider with great long legs and and a little round-ish body.
Wrong. There are three types. Cranefly, Daddy Long Legs spider and Harvestmen. :p

So if you ate one, would you die, or get poisoned? Not that you would wanna eat one, but a thought...
They aren't poisonous. Eat all you want :p.

Many poisons require access to the blood system in order to affect a human being. Saying that, I've heard the statistic about the poisonousness (heh - is that a word?) of a daddy-long-legs spider before and looked for a source, but found nothing. It got really confusing because a DLL (much easier) is different things in different parts of the world

The daddy long leg spiders are poisonous, its just the teeth bit is only designed to penetrait insects.Im unsure if there is enough poison in one to kill a human, but i think there is.It must enter the blood stream tho to cause neuro toxin death.
They are totally afraid of you...cant see you only feel movement/shadows (why they move in this freakish way)

If you have spiders joy! :D the ecosystem in your room is intact. This means no mice, spiders are some of its food.

Mummy-long-legs surely then? :p

Are those really poisonous then? Can't say i've seen them, looks like they can't fly so that's probably why (pulls out bed and fetches torch...)

Mythbusters had a guy get bitten by them, and he didn't die. Theres no scientific evidence of the poisons use on humans, but its been observed that the effect on insects isn't that great either.

i think that they are poisonous to humans, but its probably because of the volume of toxin inside one then(maybe you need shedloads). Also do you have any scientific proof, that they dont ?

For fear factor the daddy long legs is a pussycat check out the australian huntsman. They are HUGE.Queit often youll find upto 5 on your lounge room wall in the morning.just lying there.doing nothing.very scary
