Dam Football Manager 2010 is hard!

Last management game i played was FM8 and was pretty decent at it, most likely because my team newcastle were in the EPL and had money to spend.

Just got FM10, first thing i did was sort out my team selections, style of play, listed some of the naff players and approached a few players for loan.

Not only do i have 0 cash, no one wants to join the crappy toon, got beat off newcastle reservers (friendly), and got beat off 3 other championship teams, scored 0 - conceded 4.

I managed to sign Beckford for £1 mill but he is useless.

Anyone got any tips or help

Gotta get in decent backroom staff and follow there suggestions, like formations to play etc, its not like other versions were you find a winner tactic and you can beat Real Madrid 6-0.

If you want a easy game get CM10 i won eveything in my first season!!!!

I had 1 tactic for every game in FM09. In FM10 that's not really effective. I'd say FM10 is harder than FM09.

i too am a FM2010 playing Toon fan, it pains me too much to read those names that must not be said telling me what to do (read: owner and manager who care not about the club)... i edited it, the NUST own NUFC in my game and the dearly departed Sir Bobby is my chairman.

It wasnt too tricky getting out of the Championship, its very hard developing the team back into an EPL team.

Jonas is great in the game, play him in attack mid, he scores a lot of my goals... and dont be afraid to play the youngsters, Carroll, Ranger etc.. are all good. The core of the team isnt bad, you have a lot of strong english players like Butt, Nolan, Smith, Guthrie etc..

The problem with NUFC when starting FM2010 is the defense, you need to try and pick up some good defenders, i had to pick some on loan that shored up the defence.... if i remember Sol Campbell was a good free agent, and i also picked up Henri Camara for free too, but Henri didnt really get a good go because Ameobi/Ranger/Carroll did the job so i released him for free in Jan 2010.
