Who fault is it if an item gets damaged in the post.

i mean am i liable to repair it?

i sold a pc and the cooler came off the board. the buyer is sending it back so i can re-attach the cooler and post it back

thank you

yours because it obviously wasnt packaged well enough

unless it comes back totally battered in which case you could argue the courier used excessive force to damage it at some point

To be honest, you should have removed the cooler before posting. Nothing says 'damage' more than a heavy heatsink unit attached by a few screws to a flimsy motherboard.

Indeed. Who knows what damage that's done to the motherboard while bouncing around in there.

Mobo, Cooler and retention method?

I know some of my older heatsinks were an absolute swine to actually get of and would have taken some damn bashing about to fall off.

Also why can't he attach it himself?
Postage twice seems a bit stupid tbh for somethign that would take all of 2 minutes.

If the Heat sink came off in transit the computer will be trashed unless you were very lucky and as sad if it was well packaged but looks like its been used as a football get onto the courier, if it just wasn't packaged enough its your fault
