Damn lunatics on the roads!!

I knew you were local before looking at your location, i think we are the only people that say charver rather than chav.

I think ya right lol.. whats chav all about? lol

Having your car attacked my Chavs/Youths, whilst in it is scarey.

Especially when your back window gets smashed. Just keep your wheel wrench under your seat that way if they try any funny business you can tell them to leg it unless they wanna see the wrench clocking them round the face.

If someones aggresive to you, just be aggresive back, chances are they dont expect it. He was in the wrong so you didnt have anything to worry about. Long as you dont assault him theres no problem!

I think the moral of the story is: Don't toot your horn at charva's.

Just run them down without warning. Im being serious.

No, that's illegal, you have to warn them you are going to do it, else they'll say in court that you didn't warn them...just do the warning about 2mm from them at 60mph :p

If people go red with anger they are calling your bluff - its the nutters who go totally white that scare me, id have got out and chased after the bloke and hacked him to death with a blunt spoon

Its all about the first second you make eye contact with them, it doesnt matter if their 8 ft tall 400lbs and built like a crap house. If your foaming at the mouth, got a twitch in the neck and your eyes look like their about to explode, hes going to think twice before opening his mouth. Give the impression your a lunatic looking for a fight and hopefully you'l never get called on that bluff. If you do, RUN!!!

Moral of the story is, always keep a two foot breaker bar in the passenger footwell! It's really quite amazing how someone who is completely seeing red with fury, rapidly approaching your vehicle intent on having a go will suddenly calm down when they see you undo your seat belt and pick up a large chunk of metal.

Never had to actually even threaten someone yet, its never got to that stage thank god, as I don't think I would actually be able to see it through.

the road is full of suicidal tosspots, both drivers and civilians!

You always have to watch your back.

I had some idiot pull out right in front of me at a mini roundabout, he didnt even brake, or look, just pulled straight out and turned down the road i was coming from. Luckily i stopped in time.

You will soon learn to swear and drive :D never stop if your not confident enough that you can handle yourself in a difficult situation!

After having my rear window smashed by youths after being started on outside a party by about 15 of them with just me and my mate I have bars in my car (threaded rod). I have no intent to use them to go and find them, but I guarentee if they even hint the slightest bit of trouble I wont hesitate to grab it.

Going to take them out soon and replace it with either a breaker bar or the wheel wrench tahts next to my jack in my boot. Tis a little bit more legal! lol

good lad, I do the same, others will tell you off for doing so, its my property and ill defend it as I see fit, same as I wouldnt hesitate to beat a burglar to within an inch of his life (or beyond), I know I'll get fisted by the fuzz for it but its definitely a case of 'me or them' I'll make sure I do the best I can to make sure the odds are stacked in my favour :)

If anything it makes you feel safe, just having it in your car or knowing its there. I try my best now not to get into those sorts of situations anymore as it wasnt very pleasant. The **** was walking infront of my car, n i had to rev and swerve to get round him when he then decided so smash it with something, i was guna get out but one of my friends persuaded me otherwise.

Tbh i cant get done for having a 'car tool' in my car after all can i ;)

Pedestrians have right of way if they are in the road. Green means you may proceed if it's safe to do so. Your observation should include anyone approaching the crossing and not just the tarmac on the road. Its a fact of life that pedestrians will walk out in front of you (and moreso in less desirable areas I find).

Using the horn after the event only antagonises people in my experience.

Its not just pedestrians though, I was waiting to cross at a pelican crossing on a 2 lane road in a city the other day, green man came on with traffic stopped in the first lane and as I got half way across one of those Kia 4x4 things went straight past about a foot in front of me!

When its green, you can go, when its flashing amber, then you have to check to see if someone is using the crossing, the guy on foot was at fault, if he done that to me I wouldnt be too pleased :)

i thought pedestrians always have the right of way in this country. Sounds like the op was at fault, especially for honking his horn, could have been fined afaik for this?

People listening to ipods whilst crossing the road really gets my goat. This one girl the other day walked right in front of me as i approached a junction. I tooted my horn and i've never seen anyone look so scared! serves her right stupid cow! When i've got my headphones in it doesnt stop me looking left and right!!
the british public are retared when it comes to roads

Been driving about a month now, give or take. Twonks or not, surely its not an everyday occurrence that you get chased down by some lunatic, who looks like he wants to rip your head off??

unfortunately it is

road rage is such a common problem, and more often than not its the person in the wrong with the rage. Here's one of my many altercations :

roundabout.jpg

As i was comming off the roundabout, the van driver came from the wrong lane and tryed to cut in front of me. There was no room so he had to slam on his brakes so i beeped my horn at him trying to cut me up. Just past these lights was a pedestrian crossing. As we que for them, he gets out of his van, starts yelling and mouting off, spits several times at my window. Then gets back in his van, drives up the que on the wrong side of the road, then cuts through the 2 ques of traffic and crosses the lights on red. Absolute nutter i think, heart still pounding i drive on.

10 minutes later he's back. Weaving all over the place constantly cutting in front of me trying to get me to stop. Each time he gets out for a fight. God knows what weapon he had gone back for. But thankfully i pulled off every time and eventually his mate must have calmed him down as he stopped following

i wouldnt have minded if it was me cutting up people in the wrong lane on the roundabout, but it was him ....
