Dark Souls:P2D GFWL edition pre-order page up on Steam now

No, you're defending a good game, a good CONSOLE developer and a bad port.

The most pathetic thing is people like you shell out money for games which are poor ports

You should probably know at this point that I probably won't actually be buying the PC version, I happen to own a PS3 already and have owned Dark Souls since its release.

The most pathetic thing is people like you shell out money for games which are poor ports and directly taken from consoles with no improvements for the PC what-so-ever just for a quick cash grab.

No what is pathetic is you. I don't own any consoles, sure my kids do but I want to play games on my own hardware. So console port or not I want to play it on PC and this allows me to. Win win

You just attacked me and many others for no reason at all apart from your own views. Next time try not to call me and others pathetic because we don't agree with you and will be buying it.

Exactly this for me. I'll be pre-ordering this game soon and cant wait to play it as its a great game. The devs are not the richest in the world so spending time on money on what for them is a risky first PC game makes no sense. I dont like GFWL but will suffer it for this game, and I hope this PC version sells loads so they can do a proper job on their next game. I think the fact they have come out and said the game wont be fully optimized speaks volumes that they care about gamers. If it was a pure cash in they would have just put the game out without saying.

And another thing that a lot of people have missed, the devs said that the game will not be fully PC optimized, BUT will run faster and better than the console version depending on the spec of your PC. So we will be getting the best version of Dark Souls. I really hope loads of people buy this and the devs do well.

That doesn't justify a poor port.
No one cares that it's a port, only that it's a poor port.

People who support these poor ports, while they're doing good for the developers, it's bad a as whole as its consumers responsibility not to buy the rubbish that gets shovelled upon them, a poor port is rubbish.

Difference is, you said it in a way that did not attack others. So your point is your own view and is very valid. My point was the other guy was calling us all pathetic as we wanted to buy it. Which was wrong of him to do.

I'm definitely keeping my powder dry on this one until I see just how bad the port is. GWFL I can probably live with but if the frame rate and performance are duff and/or they bork the control scheme then I'll quite happily pass on it. I've heard great things but there are plenty of incredibly rewarding RPGs out there which are also insanely challenging. The Witcher 2 is crazy hard at higher difficulty levels so if Dark Souls is not up to scratch then I will let it pass.

The control scheme is pretty much 360 pad or nothing, if you have one - great. If not.....
