Dark Souls:P2D GFWL edition pre-order page up on Steam now

Lot of misinformation about this game here are some facts:

1: 30FPS was only on the E3 demo they used the FPS limiter to ensure a smooth gameplay experience but according to someone from Namco who is testing the game its not locked to 30FPS at all & runs very well so far on the latest build.

NamcoBandaiAU is the user apparently he is a QA tester & says it goes to 60FPS on an AMD 5800 GPU

2: Gfx will look a lot better on PC due to higher resolutions, vsync, x16AF + AA.

3: PC experience will be superior to the console due to highspec hardware regardless of port quality.

They don't look like facts to me, and the "QA tester" surely would be under NDA and unless he's verified, these are not facts at all.

That's not saying it isn't the case.

However, PC gamers will not enjoy an ideal and smoothly gaming experience as the game has major framerate issues. In fact, the E3 PC demo was really choppy. What’s really disappointing here is that Namco has been using an Nvidia 6xx series card for their demonstration. According to its Facebook page, Namco is featuring its new EON11-S and its High-Performance Desktops will be running NAMCOBANDAI Games’ highly anticipated games, Star Trek and Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC. These PC configurations are equipped with a GTX 6xx series card, so get ready everyone for really awful performance when this game comes out.

Sounds like a good port, guise.

This is a quote from that link you posted:

"Last but not least, the E3 build of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition featured a frame rate setting, which was set to 30 FPS, a Window/Fullscreen mode and an Anti-Aliasing Option (with On and Off settings)."

You can also set it to other numbers apart from 30 ;)

If it has a frame rate which isn't limited to 30, the performance of it isn't shockingly bad and the mouse and keyboard controls are acceptable, I can try and look past GFWL and support a developer (As much as I hate GFWL and think it's a cancer on gaming). I don't have a problem with the game, I never have, I just want the basics which should be in every PC game, port or not. No-one here wants to not support a game which has been praised like Dark Souls, they just don't want to support a half assed port made for a cash grab on PC players which doesn't contain basic features to make the game enjoyable.

From original interviews a cash grab is what it was looking likely to be (I'm sure one of the developers even verified it was locked to 30 FPS and had a 720p resolution), if they've changed it enough and made it a worth while port, I will buy it happily (I was 1 of the ones who was petitioning to get it on PC and really looking forward to playing it).

The fact the performance is still bad on 6XX series Nvidia cards doesn't look very good, sounds very poorly optimised which is disappointing. Time will tell.

Is this the game that came out for PS3 and 360 ages ago and has really hard difficulty? Like it has very few save points and if you die, you go way back to the last save or something. Im pretty sure my brother has this on the PS3 and he said it was really unrelenting.

Looks quite good though, simple, yet good. Well it definately looks better on the PC than on a blurry console.
