As title, can anyone recommend a company for recovering data off a dead HDD?

    Been looking at https://www.dataclinic.co.uk/

Would prefer to hear if anyone have any recommendations first though.

I think the only usual recommendations are to find the same model drive online and then swap the boards over.

How dead is dead? Do you hear it spinning up? or literally no movement whatsoever?

Only reason i ask is that if it's a mechanical failure, then it's likely much harder to recover. I would say most of the data recovery companies are specialists at recovering data when it's been corrupted etc.

+ throwing in the obvious of restoring from your backup :p

Anyone advice what thy recommend. Is the bios chip worth having removed on the original drive and moved onto new one?
