David Cameron left his daughter in a pub for 15 mins

You mean like the defence of Brown over the rubbish "Spelt the name of the dead soldier wrong" letter? Not everything has to be partisan you know.
What defence?, apart from the fact he's blind in one eye & has less than 30% vision in the other? - do you mean that's not a reason for poor writing?.

You really are funny.

Which is pretty much the point, there were plenty of reasons why he made the mistake and even posters who despised the man were sticking up for him (myself included).

Well, that's may be the case (in a few situations) - I doubt it's true overall.

People do often have double standards (refreshing to see you are not one of them).

Wasn't there a BBC News article about people who do this not so long ago? Forgotten baby syndrome, although the child the Cameron's forgot wasn't a baby I guess. It must have been awful for them and just goes to show that anyone can make a mistake.

Bit of a none story. My kids decided to take off to their grandmas without us knowing (they have never walked to grandmas) it was about 15 minutes before we had noticed. Also when my daughter was about 3 days old we visited my mum and we left our daughter in her car seat on grandmas kitchen table. We were sat in the car wondering if we had left something!

I think that people are missing the point.. what the hell was david cameron doing in a pub on a sunday? he should be out there running the country, not drowning our taxes in the bottom of a 'wine glass'..

:D

Yes - It's a completely dull and hardly newsworthy story. And yes - many parents have done something similar up and down the country and will continue to do so. However, this isn't just Joe Bloggs and his missus down the pub for a spot of lunch with their sprog. And despite the fact it is David Cameron who I really couldn't give a gnats chuff about, the main issue here is that his security detail = massive fail.

These people are providing protection to the most important politician in the country. They have procedures, tactics and drills which are supposed to be carried out to the letter whether it's just following him to the bathroom when he goes for a pee at a Tory party conference or doing the full drill at an all day/evening event in Europe somewhere.

The point is that it's not exactly professional looking when they realise 15 mins later after leaving the premises "Errrrm, hang on - wasn't the bosses daughter with us this morning when we left?". Especially in this day and age of heightened security threats. I expect someone's head will roll for this and quite rightly so.

Why do we need to know about it?

I think it's relevant that the public knows when the prime minister can't even remember his own child.

He thought his child was with his wife I would imagine. I really don't see how it's relevant.

I forgot a mates birthday once, should I tell my employer as clearly I am too forgetful to manage large scale projects?

Loads of people have left their kids somewhere for a few minutes. Non-story. As usual.

Exactly, I remember being left at the school fare once. Mum thought I was with dad, dad thought I was with mum.

Total non story these things happen.

Lol @ Valium prescription.

Indeed - I was listening to a London radio station this morning and lots of caller said they've done the same, had an absent minded moment where they just walked away without their pram or baby, let alone a kid - the presenter was expecting to have maybe 1 or 2 people admitting to it, instead 90% of the calls were admitting that it had happened to them.

Mistakes do happen, however, with the entourage that the PM enjoys I'm surprised it did actually happen.

Then again I was separated from my parents in Vienna once watching street performers, I just lost sight of them and vice versa and I wondered off. Must have frightened the hell out of them.

I love the BBC comments. You have the normal comments like "Non-story. Everyone does that once in a while" and then you have the crazies.
How anyone can possibly leave their own child in a pub is beyond me! And this man will still give lectures and speeches on how people should run their home and lives?

This is the pinnacle of irresponsibility!
I can only hope he's trolling.
