Newser) – British Prime Minister David Cameron appears close to proposing new TV regulations that would ban gay kissing on all TV programs until late at night, according to press reports. The move is the result of a government review of the effects of "sexually suggestive" TV scenes on youngsters, reports the Daily Mail. The review was triggered by long-simmering concerns about a lesbian kiss on the soap opera Brookside that aired in 1994. "For some parents, what has been considered acceptable in the past—such as that Brookside kiss—is not appropriate for children to see early in the evening," said the head of a "family values" group that has spearheaded the movement. Cameron, the dad of three young children, has warned that such scenes can "take away their innocence."

The restrictions would likely fall most heavily on prime time gay scenes, according to sources, but could also impact sexually suggestive heterosexual music videos, according to sources. “I swear David Cameron’s meant to be supporting equal rights," tweeted actress Brooke Vincent who plays a lesbian on the soap opera Coronation Street. "If same-sex kisses are what he is prioritizing and concentrating on changing, our country’s in trouble."

Seems a bit discriminatory, doesn't it? Would he also suggest that hetero kisses be banned as well?

I'm a believer of equal rights and believe that such a ban would be discrimanatory to the Gay community.

Oi, OP, dont post a news story that directly references a Dail Fail article in the hope of giving it a scrap of validity by hiding its true origon.

It doesn't say anything about gay kisses, it says sexually suggestive scenes. Its your fail media outlet that has sensationalized adding drama to sell more copies

Go read a proper paper.

How dare you?!

Accussing me of reading the Mail! :p

Now, that I've seen all other sources are just referencing the Mail, I'm taking the news with a pinch of salt too.
