David Guetta

If I was a DJ like Guetta I'd "sell out and turn commercial" without giving it a second thought. I think you'd have to be a bit of a fool not to, unless you didn't think you could handle the fame or something.

Seems to me that Calvin Harris is slowly going the same way, collaborating with all these tosh 'RnB' artists, which is a shame.

Definitely is becoming more mainstream with the production of 'Rihanna - We Found Love' and 'Cheryl - Call My Name' but I'm sure he never signed a contract to say that he wouldn't 'sell out' just the same as Guetta :) People have this misconception that is 'sell out'. It's not real in my opinion, it's just a phrase that is used when there's a bit of jealousy about. People tried to call the likes of Nirvana and Lost Prophets sell outs... why? Because their must evolved over the years and more people enjoyed it???

You have got it all wrong man, people who are into the dance scene do it for the love of the music first.any real DJ will tell you this, would i sell out to make commercial music no i would not because my roots are deeply involved the underground scene and allways will be

I find this interesting and believe me, I don't want to start an argument but I think you're getting the phrase 'sell out' confused with being increasingly popular. 'Any real DJ will tell you this' - Like who? Oh and if they do, are they known by the masses? :p

You wouldn't 'sell out' to make commercial music which is fair but I'm sure you haven't got that choice as I'm guessing you do it as a hobby.
