Been playing back thru the dow's, up to soul storm now. Great games and i think they aged very well (so far) apart from the zoom out distance.

Dow 3 from the game play videos ive seen looks unfortunatly a little but too much centered around the hero characters. I hope to be proven wrong tho and steams refund guarantee will definatly make it a "buy and try" game.

Generally follow RPS and eurogamer among others, seems to be a good game but flawed...will give beta a whirl tomorrow and over the weekend but I've bought every DOW (and most 40k titles in general) so will probably pick it up.

Looking forwards to the beta (all downloaded and ready), but definitely going to wait before shelling out cash.

Those reviews are positive enough to keep me excited though, and the points they pick up on are mostly things that can be tweaked post launch of they are a serious problem

I have only had a couple of games but so far i dont really enjoy it. Ignoring the fairly terrible graphics as its the gameplay that really matters.....nothing feels meaty. Nothing feels really tactical. You dont put your devastators out to supress units etc, they just stand there, no cone arc sort of thing and do **** poor damage. Like most other stuff. You win an early fight and you cant do anything after because of this silly moba esque gen/turret combo. So the games are needlessly long. I definitely preferred 2, it had more focus on tactics/unit control and the maps were far more interesting with the buildings to garrison in and the cover to hide behind. This feels like a step back to me. If anything it is like sc2, if sc2 lost its graphic fidelity and awesome sound effects :| oh, and intelligent units and responsive keybindings.

The argument can be 'well its a beta' but the game comes out next week, this is what you are gonna get. Those reviews above were far too generous imo.
