Hey all
Just something I found from the games I played on the DoW beta with members from here...Gord, Zero5, Arty, Crispy et al...thought I'd share it in case anyone remembers the games
(written by Gord after a long and brutal game)

The Battle Of 6
starring Raz [marines - Imperial Fists], Artemic [marines] & Gord [chaos] (team 1)....VS.....Harmz [chaos], John [marines] & Thrax [marines]
The fronts were quiet for a length of time. The teams expanded their borders quickly, inevitably between Raz and Artemic we saw the first of our enemy, Thrax successfully dived into Artemics base, taking control of 2 points, but his battle was in vain for Raz came to the rescue with what troops he had early on.
A great many moments passed from this quasi early activity. The teams undoubtedly fortifying their bases despite the objective of reaching that oh so important middle ground. I, Gord, had scouted early to find jons base between me and Artemic. I built up a force not to be laughed at outside johns reach, while i taunted him with artillery. Elsewhere on the lands, Thrax skirmished with Raz and Artemic. Still Harmz's warped chaos forces were unseen and unheard.
With 3 squads of equipped chaos marines, my lord, artillery and 2 preds with twin linked lazcannons i assaulted johns base. From my artillery he knew this was inevitable and had built a defense to end all defenses. The bottleneck meant my raptors flew in and were shot from the sky/ground pretty quickly, but while they distracted the turrets, my tanks and missile troops made haste with knocking out the turrets. I was also brewing my own surprise in the depths of my base.
The battle at johns base front raged on until all defenses were devoured. My lord and raptors slain, but my marines enforced by my constant regrowth of men: holding strong. Drednaughts started to draw in from Thrax but were no match for the missile nor fiery lazcannon ejected by my troops and tanks. John fought gallantly, but the Bloodthirster signed his fate on the dotted line, he was to be axed immeadiately from the game, and the BT did just that.
My attention focused on john meant i had missed Thraxs destruction which must have been swift . Alas we hear news across the battlefield of Harmz who has swept in and taken the strategic point. My men replenished and tanks up to 3 i head towards this point. Oddly no enemies are near. A cunning plan i thought to surprise us, but no ambush came and the air was tense. I sent my bloodthirster towards the most probably location of Harmz, the bottom of the map. He struck gold, well, actually many troops, but Harmz had great time to build a force to rival mine and our allys. My bloodthirster singularity among the many turrets and men of the enemy chaos was too much, and with a fell swoop from that wretched chaos lord he was sent back to the warp.
Our forces were enraged by this act. Onwards i commanded my troops, now 4 preds and my lord back. The same commands were issued by my allys and we rolled towards Harmz base. My tanks first on the scene found rocket turrets and defilers standing strong. It did not look good, but many reinforcements were on their way. Raz's Landraiders aidded from afar as our units struggled through the bottleneck into the deathzone of Harmz frontline defenses. The battle here was unheard of in size and horrific in violence. Men flew from defiler artillery, turrets frazzled from the fiery lazcannons, lords laid down enemy troops like sausages on a BBQ.
While Harmz held for many moments the strength of 3 armies took its toll. We rolled into his base destroying what laid before us. My BT returned again to lay waste. With a last stand at Harmz HQ he also revived his BT, but the singularity again was his downfall. They battled between each other, and Harmz BT took down many a Imperial Fist marine. The end drew near, we ravaged the base till nothing stood there any more.
As we waited for the end to signal, a red dot caught my attention of which my BT rushed after. Harmz's single Heretic remained to try and rebuild. A sneaky approach had it gone un-noticed, but my BT caused it fatal injuries when he kicked it across the fields where so many had died.
The battle was finished. It was a great victory for Raz, Artemic and Gord.....but by no means had they won the war, retaliation is inevitable........
Through the breach!
