Gotta say the Hive Tyrant is pure awesomeness in The Last Stand once you reach lvl15. I could barely make it past wave 9 on a regular basis with the useless minion builds you get lumbered with, but the moment I hit 15 and got the half energy cost item I've been slaughtering things with Toxic Miasma. Up to lvl19 now and had so many good rounds today, including 1 where our 3rd player dropped on wave 8 Anvil and me and a Farseer managed to reach wave 19 before dieing.

Ive only played SM and Tyranid in last stand and I much prefer the Hive Tyrant. Theres actually a few effective build for the tyant as well. The near perma invincibility miasma spam, the ravener+guard build(ravener is ridiculous) or a melee build with psychic scream, warp shield and the 'achievement claws'. I completed both maps with the last build, im assuming others use it but I haven't noticed anyone else with it.

I thought the SM achievements were a complete pain to get, 350 kills isnt easy as even if you say you're trying to get the 350 kill achievement, Tau just can't resist nuking and stomping everything they see, like they've got something to prove by getting more kills than you which quite frankly isn't hard for Tau. It actually annoyed me so much it's put me off playing them on last stand. Its a shame the sergeants best weapon is through the 350 kill unlock as I didn't feel like a powerhouse until I got it at lv20 by plasma grenade whoring.

The next time i'm home I will try and get another class to 20. I haven't even touched the multiplayer since the original DoW, which was excellent but lack of bases really puts me off DoW2.

Wow no one has posted since 2011? haha well just to let all of you know they have added the Necron Lord to last stand, it is free until the 15th of march.

^^ LOL !!! played co-op campaign with friend approx 5 months ago and also last stand and bit of multiplayer.
Still enjoy the game and doesn't look too outdated either.

I believe as well that this game is showing signs of native Linux support.

Dare I dream this means a Dawn of War 3 announcement could be coming?
