Dead or Alive 6 - Laughable cost

Just saw that DoA6 has been put up on steam and PSN for "free"...

The DLC costs are atrocious!
£16 for story mode
£50 for 20 playable characters
£73 for a season pass

The season pass even says that there will be additional DLC released not included that you'll have to pay for. And the pass included only 2 characters but 62 outfits!

Looking at the characters listed int he £50 pack, it looks as if thats the usual roster in any full release

Wondering if anyone has bought the retail version of this and is it's as shop shop reliant as this version that has just been released?

Surely this is just a demo with cash bolt ons lol

But you could just buy the core game and save monies that way right?

Probably for people that don't realise that it will end up costing you more money buying it from the free version. Unless I am missing something?

Its depressing but its the way gaming is going. They know that they can make way more money from people buying in game items than they ever would from a straight up front cost. People start playing and then they can suck them into spending far more than the game would ever have cost them. Personally I hate the fact that the biggest games will soon all become simply vessels to extract the most money from the players and that will drive the main decision making process from a development stand point.

The free "Core Fighters" edition is for casual players or those who only want to buy one or two mains and fight online/offline. Not a bad approach if you ask me.

If you want the whole hog, then buy the actual base game and save cash.

The other DLC (Season Pass), however, is a complete joke. Hardly unexpected though given what we saw with DOA5 LR.
