How many times do people have to post that the publishers set the price on steam not valve before people will realise. I don't even visit this part of the forum that often.

Retailers are being anti-competitive by threatening publishers if they allow download services to undercut them.
This generation, publishers still need retailers to push console titles.
wrong. steam overprices everything.
The irony being of course that retailers (at least the high street retailers) have done their best to kill off the PC gaming market simply because they can't exploit it via second hand sales like they can with the consoles.
Then they throw a hissy fit when Steam and other DD services out compete their non-existent PC product range, or even - as in the THQ games - do exclusive deals so you can't buy the games on Steam for a while, like Homefront, a Steamworks game that requires steam which is only available at retail in the UK!
I've read it described as like a spoiled child who throws away an unwanted toy only to throw a tantrum when another child picks it up and plays with it.
Only £13.99 now.
Quite suprising really, only been out a few weeks - usually takes a lot longer for big games to fall in price by this much.
Also, dunno if any of you have heard about this but i hear its getting custom control support...

The Homefront situation is a bit of a joke though.
. It is in the publishers interests to sell their game through as many channels as possible. From the big river place and one other.
A bit quicker than I thought tbh, it's only been out a couple weeks
And it's still 29.99 on Steam.
In short, Steam is crap for new releases. I wonder if they'll ever decide to be more competitive?
Screw brick and mortal retail. Let the dinosaurs die if you ask me.
