Game discussion, hints and tips BUT please use spoiler tags for any story elements for the cheapskates like me waiting to blag it for under 50 sheets!

(:

Yeah , as folk have said it's very similar to the first title and carries a lot of the problems with it. Definitely having love it and hate it moments.

Loved this particular boss design but the combat is slow and clunky at times just like the first. Hard to actually feel like you're in control and not just going through the motions.

Oh well , at least I'm building roads now :)
This is slightly disappointing. I was under the impression they had tightened up the stealth and combat and made it fun to actually get involved in encounters as opposed to simply avoiding it all together.

Well, best reserve judgement for yourself , good chance I'm just ***p at it. :)
I just go in guns blazing. Love the slo mo, especially in the rain, cool effect.
Well shucks, I'm downloading it now. Between @[timko] and having 10 quid already in my wallet. I've lied to myself and justified the cost at 47 sheets (and still have 10 quid in the wallet).

You should probably complete the first game, it’s very much a sequel.

Really enjoying it so far, like the first. No one does cinematic games like Kojima, except perhaps naughty dog. The music and visuals are amazing.
I completed DS1; really enjoyed it, in spite of the combat aspect. I only ever engaged with the BTs and effectively avoided all interactions with the mules, outside of quest specific missions.

I'll be playing this shortly once the download finishes.

e: This is good! I managed to play for a few hours last night, and wow, it looks utterly gorgeous on the Pro (playing on performance mode). I think the combat is better, though I’m not sure if it’s just my imagination. The slow-mo effect when aiming down the sights is great, but I have no idea what triggers it, maybe it’s activated by a critical hit or a headshot?

I’m looking forward to when the story actually starts.

Major bonus points for having Hania Rani providing some of the score.

Just got onto the Magellan. Story is.....weird, as expected. Loving it though.
Aye. Just Just managed this too but decided to call it after a few hours as my Pro was starting to take-off.

Maybe I missed this from DS1 but I'll stick it in a spoiler regarding Fragile.
I thought Fragile was scarred from time fall exposure instigated by Higgs. Yet, she no longer appears scarred / aged? Was this explained in DS1?

Yes I noticed that too.

I don't think it's an accident, they even highlighted that she was aged from the neck down in the recap, so I think something is up, certainly the weirdness with Lou going on, I think Sam is having some kind of episode and reality isn't all it seems.
Have to say I'm already proper confused.
If Lou died, who or what version of Lou is in the pod? Deadman throwing out the duplicate BB-28. Twins?
Why were the characters monochrome on the Mag? Or was that just an indicator when travelling through the tar?
Clearly Charlie and the "president" are nefarious.
Dollman? Pfffft.
The whole thing is already utterly bonkers. Love it.

This game looks gorgeous on the pro best looking game in 2025

But damn the ps5 pro is a noisy machine what was Sony thinking
Aye. I want to get back on in it but the thought of sweating myself in to the sofa while the PS burns a hole in the corner is preventing me.

Sheesh you guys have proper stomped ahead. I've only really just started chapter 3. The game is stunning but feels very closed-in when playing. Not sure if it due to camera being really close to Sam or what but I'm finding I rarely have a chance to pan the camera around without taking a tumble. Sound design is brilliant.

Please remember to use spoiler tags with apt nay vague descriptions for the spoiler title, perhaps chapter number.

I'm still on chapter 3 but think I must be nearing the end of it.
I took down the mech and have to say I'm grateful that Kojima simply throws you back into the fight. I only died seven times, which dealt a whopping 750% damage for that 'delivery.' Unlocked the first monorail, learned more about Tarman, and I'm hopeful there's only another mission left before chapter 4.

Managed to open the map to F2 South distribution centre but there is a spot around the Mine North of F1 which is not on the chiral network. I'm wondering if I missed a mission to open this up. Would have made it much easier to perform the main order back to West Fort Knot!

This game man. I'm only have the time to plug around 4/5 hours a week in to this but I'm still only on chapter 7, after 22 hours of playing.
The Motherhood. Left hand is inverted just coz they're chiral hands dummy! I still have not got a damn clue what is going on!
I've only done a few sides so far, mostly aligning with the route defined by the main orders. However, I had a shock when using the tram to travel from F2 to F1 – I stupidly got off at the Mine, thinking it was F1, as the screen prompts you to depart. I quickly realised my mistake, but fortunately, the game was forgiving, and all my junk and vehicle had been delivered to F1 and were waiting for me!

Bah, I'm still on chapter 8 after 30+ hours. Trying to grind the silenced sniper rifle but I'll be damned finding any orders for him and after 4 stars, any lost cargo is just a trickle of likes.

I can maybe help here.

Go to the menu and chose orders then chose the end point for the delivery to be at the Lone Commander then go and do their deliveries over and over. Unfortunately the road that is close to his place is very expensive to build in the early game so i would suggest getting loaded up with Blood Grenades (Preferable V2) and then take all the BTs out in the area (Especially the Gazers). That will clear the area for a while leaving you to do deliveries in that areas without having to constantly battle them.

Its a great bit of kit but i find i often take down a enemy with the rifle but someone else sees him and revives him or that a load of the enemies, even in early game, have helmets and take 2 shots to the head to take down and by that time they have alerted others.
Hmm. I never knew you could filter on endpoint for deliveries in the standard menu outside of actually being at a settlement terminal. There is so much this game either doesn't tell you or is buried in endless text within the corpus!

I do have lvl2 grenades, so may try this out but I generally just zoom through BT areas on a tricycle. Also now focusing in the Data analyst to get the silenced assault rifle. Still enjoying the game and on chapter 9 now. No idea how far or near I am to the end game but the map is now 75%+ cleared.

I'm still plugging away with this and on chapter 11.
I'm still none the wiser what the point of Neil Vana was or has to the story. Perhaps more will be explained but thus far I've no idea what his episodes / game levels were all about or why they in the places they were or well eh. Unless I missed something, the therapist was the girl he left, and she also provided therapy to Sam at one point in time?!
Hopefully nearing the end now as I'm slowly getting fatigued with the overall story (or lack thereof).

Finally finished this last night. I'm almost disappointed at the lack of the extremely long story cut-scenes that were present at the endgame of DS1.

Story-wise, felt a bit eh. Exactly the same feeling when I think of HZD versus HFW.

I suspect, like most of his stuff, you get what you put in to it. I do not think I used any of the new mechanics or the new clobber, visited the zoo again after dropping off a kangaroo, or whatever that coffin thing was or the surfing on it or the rockets or the etc etc etc.

Still a very pretty game and enjoyed the 50 odd hours I spent in it.
